High Speed Rail Industry Leaders has been speaking, through its membership, to SME’s to gauge how they view the opportunities presented by the development of high speed rail in the UK, and in particular the HS2 project, with the aim of helping to maximise the beneficial effects of HSR development throughout the UK supply chain. The sessions also gave our members, as Tier 1 suppliers, the opportunity to understand some of the challenges that SME’s face when trying to build the right relationships with larger companies.
High Speed Rail – grasping the opportunity captures the key messages from these focus groups, and sets out some of the changes member companies are proposing to make to their own processes and approaches that will address some of the key issues highlighted by participants.
Joining us at the launch of the report at the House of Lords, was a number of the transport industry’s most influential figures, who shared their views on the benefits of high speed rail and how best the industry can deliver this important project. Speakers included Lord Peter Snape, Robert Goodwill MP Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport, and Lilian Greenwood MP Shadow Secretary for Transport.
